I’m still overwhelmed with gratitude from last night.

A room filled with friends, family, musicians, filmmakers, and supporters who chose to spend their evening experiencing something a little different—showing up for local art and sharing a moment together in real time. Your presence truly warmed my heart. Being in that room with you all reminded me what this is really about: community, creativity, and experiencing life together.

A huge thank you to the incredible team behind the evening—Clouds North Films, COPA, Blue Moon Lighting, the amazing tech and hospitality crew, our incredible MC Sam Sorenson, and an unbelievably talented group of musicians who brought the music to life. Wow. I feel so incredibly blessed.

Once upon a time, I said to myself, “If I never try, I’ll always regret it.” I decided to give it the biggest swing I had: the making of my album PIECES, my first Kickstarter, my first album release party — my first big “go” as a solo artist.

This was the first song I wrote for that album. It was the reminder I needed every time I felt like giving up, every time it felt too hard to keep going. It was the start of a journey that’s taken me years to fully grasp and has brought me to places I’d never imagined — a journey filled with mistakes and successes, failures and wins, joy and heartbreak, and all the lessons in between.

Today marks nine years since the album release. Hard to believe.

To anyone out there who’s scared of what’s on the other side, or afraid to try, the only thing I can promise is that it starts within. You get to measure success. No one else. Trust your gut. If you want something, go get it. If it doesn’t feel right, pause and take the time you need to discern the next step. Only you know what’s truly best for you.

Every failure is a lesson you can take with you the next go-round. Every “win” won’t always feel like you thought it would, but that doesn’t mean giving up on the things you love. It means there’s still more to learn.

To all of you who have continued to walk with me on this journey, Thank you. This was one of the most terrifying things I ever did, but you stood by me through my winding roads, and I truly could not have done it without you.

As we enter into one of the busiest times of year, I wanted to send you off with a little surprise. The Holidays can be stressful, but if there’s one thing I can give, it’s the gift of a song that reminds us to “let your heart be light.”

Those lyrics may mean different things to different people, but to me it emphasizes the importance of giving to others -and also the importance of giving ourselves grace, and permission to feel good inside.
