Hopefully, you enjoyed learning a little bit about my past and long-time passion for music, in my last (also my very first!) blog post. But this time I want to give you a peek into the future, including what will be my first, full-length album.
If you are connected with me on social media, you know I've been in and out of the studio, piecing it all together over the last year with my band and other fellow musicians.
But, as I'm also piecing together the words and music to each song, I'm realizing how many pieces of myself I'm sharing with you.
And it's a little scary for me.
I’ll be the first to admit that putting my music out into the public has posed somewhat of a challenge. A lot of my songs are very personal and I sometimes stray from even letting them travel any further than my “voice memos” in my phone. But most people who come to see me play know that I have a chest full of secret songs that do indeed come out in the dim hours of night during my live performances. And it seems those who come to watch connect with them somehow, which is the best part of what I do.
I’m ready to share them. And this album is only the beginning of what will be one massive life puzzle. It’s taken me a long time to get here, jumping hoops and hurdles, but I’m very proud of how this chapter (a very long chapter of songs that stem from over eight years ago) is finally falling into place.
